CIO of the Year Award 2008


The CIO of the Year Award 2008 has the aim to give recognition to the best performing CIO in the year 2008. The performance aspects being measured entails IT-performance, IT-agility and project performance/attractiveness. Not only the performance aspects will be of importance. Today’s CIO must be a communicator as well. From this perspective the more personal profile of the CIO will be measured in terms of leadership, vision and culture within the company. The CIO of the Year Award 2008 will be presented on the CIO Day 2008 on the 25th of November this year by HRH Prins Bernhard van Oranje.

Selection process and criteria CIO of the Year Award 2008

The CIO of the Year Award 2008 is based on a well funded criteria process. The process and criteria has been developed over the past three year together with The CIO Platform Nederland (CIO platform of top 100 organizations in NL), CIO Magazine and Research organisations: The Hackett Group, Effecs and Ebbinge & Company

The CIO of the Year Award 2008 process entails the following steps

  1. Pre-selection of a total of 100 pre-nominees
  2. Invitation of the 100 nominees to participate at a pre-nomination selection round
  3. Invitation nominees to cooperate at an in depth web questionnaire
  4. Results of the web questionnaire will be measured and ranked by The Hackett Group and Effecs on the performance scale and by Ebbinge & Company on the personal scale
  5. The top 10 nominees will be chosen based on the received results of the web questionnaire The Jury will be informed and advised.
  6. Personal validation interviews with top 10 nominees by The Hackett Group, Effecs and Ebbinge & Company
  7. CIO Magazine will interview and publish an article on the top 10 nominees
  8. Jury will invite the top 5 nominees for a meeting on October 7th, 2008
  9. Jury will elect the number 1, 2 and 3 of the CIO of the Year Award 2008
  10. The CIO of the Year Award will be presented by HRH Bernhard van Oranje-Naussau (Chairman Jury) on the CIO Day 2008, November 25th
  11. The CIO of the Year 2008 will be on the cover of the CIO Magazine edition November-December and the final election feedback will be published in this edition as well

• Jury will elect the number 1, 2 and 3 of the CIO of the Year Award 2008
• Presentation CIO of the Year Award 2008 on the CIO Day 2008
• Presentation CIO Magazine with on the cover the CIO of the Year 2008
